Working Platform

Bygging's modular working platforms are designed for use with hydraulic tank jacking systems during the top-down erection of large storage tanks. As successive shell courses are positioned and welded close to ground level, the platform provides convenient access around the tank circumference for plate fit-up, welding, inspection, and other erection activities.

Bygging's modular working platforms can be assembled without the need of certified scaffold builders, reducing installation time and labour requirements. The platforms are equipped with toe guards and handrails to provide a safe and accessible working environment.

Key Features

  • Modular and adjustable design: Suitable for shell course heights ranging from 1.5 m to 3 m and tank diameters of 14 m and above.
  • Compatibility with retractable jacks: Removable grid plates allow the platform to accommodate jack retraction. Once the jacks are retracted, the openings can be covered using additional grid plates, maintaining a continuous working surface.
  • Convenient access: Equipped with one or two access hatches for personnel entry and exit.
  • Spacious working area: Provides a platform width of 900 mm on each side for personnel and erection activities.
  • Integrated safety features: Complete with toe guards and handrails for personnel protection.
  • Compliance with international standards: Designed to conform to EN ISO 14122 Parts 1, 2, and 4, covering permanent means of access to machinery, including general access requirements, working platforms, walkways, and fixed ladders.
